What is a robot?

Do you remember the three Laws of the Robotics, those of Asimov to intend us?

  1.  a robot cannot go damage to the human beings neither to allow that, because of his/her own negligence, a human being suffers damage;

  2.  a robot always has to obey to the orders of the human beings, unless doesn't oppose with the First Law;

  3.  a robot has to protect his/her own existence, unless this doesn't oppose with the Before or the Second Law

If we approach there to the science, and more precisely to the robotics, we discover that the robots exist and they work (also with some limits)

A robot is mainly composed from three elements:

  • The sensors, that are the devices that the robot uses for observing the surrounding environment: television cameras, ultrasounds sensors or to infrared, sensory of contact, GPS...

  • The unity of government, that deals with to interpret the data furnished by the sensors and to establish the actions to complete. Is here that it finds the intelligence of the robot managed from calculators;

  •  The attuators, that are the devices that the robot uses for physically developing the actions (for example to move himself/herself/themselves or to grab an object).

The robots divide in two great categories: robot teleoperating and autonomous robot.

  •  A robot teleoperating is a machine commanded to distance; who decides what it has to do, it is a human being (operator) endowed with a command to distance without which the robot cannot work.

  •  An autonomous robot is instead an able machine to work without the control of a man, it is able of to perceive his/her own environment, and to decide alone thing to do. Is in the field of the autonomous robotics that you find the most sophisticated robots, In effects we can say that only the autonomous robots are true robots.
